First Bard Exercises

Finished reading 'Druidry', by Mari Silva yesterday. It was interesting in parts, but I felt it focused too much on Runes, Ogham, and Tarot. There wasn't much in the way of real spiritual nourishment.

I've read through the first PDF of the BDO Bardic course, and am now going back to complete the exercises.

Exercise 1 was to start a Bardic Journal, which I did on paper, and parts are reproduced online here.

Exercise 2 is in my paper journal, and I'm going to keep this part private (mostly because I've already sealed it, and can't remember what's in it at the time of typing).

Exercise 3 is about sources of inspiration:

  1. Tchaikovsky's music, particularly the Swan Lake and Nutcracker suites
  2. Any wood or forest
  3. Kagyu Samye Ling Monastery in South West Scotland
  4. Bodies of water
  5. Impressionist paintings
  6. Chalice Well Trust in Glastonbury
  7. The Prophet, a book by Khalil Gibran
  8. Greta Thunberg
  9. Celtic imagery - knots, tartan etc
  10. The music of Debussy
